BEST WESTERN PREMIER Dua Sentral Treats Its Filipinos Employees To A Mesmerizing Luncheon Cum Cultural Presentation to Commemorate the Proclamation of Philippine Independence

On 16 June 2014 in commemoration of the 116th anniversary celebration of the independence of the Philippine, BEST WESTERN PREMIER Dua Sentral organized a lavish luncheon for its Filipino employees.

Some 100 people attended the luncheon, including Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia J. Eduardo Malaya, Filipinos staying in the hotel and members of the Filipinos community. The luncheon program showcases an array of Philippine food and drinks prepared by the hotel’s Executive Sous Chef, Sam Khaw Siong Sim together with its Philippine employees. It was also a celebration of color, music and culture, as the Philippine employees were dressed in traditional Philippine costumes and a series of performance.

“By organising this event, the spirit of National was conveyed to the Filipinos whilst enhancing the culture understanding of our country through the food and music,” said H.E J. Eduardo Malaya, Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia.

A Masterchef competition was held where the Philippine employees were given the chance to cook their favourite Philippine dishes. Each of them was given 20 minutes to present their signature dishes and points were rewarded based on cleanliness, taste and dish arrangement.

“The luncheon was part of a series of activities and events planned for our foreign employees throughout the year, including training and development. To date, BEST WESTERN PREMIER Dua Sentral has 30 foreign employees,” said Ian Hurst, General Manager of BEST WESTERN PREMIER Dua Sentral.
