MESSAGE FROM SUWAT KAMWONG, TAT DIRECTOR FOR MALAYSIA AND BRUNEI

Dear friends
Sawatdi khrap from the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

We are delighted to inform you that Thailand has returned to normal, following the coup impose by National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), to maintain Peace & Order.

Curfew time has been reduced to 00.01 – 04.00 hours in Bangkok and most parts of Thailand.  Most local businesses, shops and restaurants have reverted back operating hours as it was before.

The NCPO had also announced the lifting of night time curfew in 17 provinces and 15 districts in three provinces with immediate effect.

The provinces are Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Tak, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Sukhothai, Mae Hong Son, Uttaradit, Phrae, Nan, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, Roi Et, Loei, Surin, Trang and Satun.

The 15 districts are Sadao and Mueang districts in Songkhla, six districts including Ko Kood in Trat and seven districts including Kaeng Krachan in Petchaburi.

The 20 areas joined the existing 10 major tourist destinations currently enjoying curfew-free, which are Phuket, Ko Samui, Pattaya City, Hua Hin, Cha-am, Krabi, Phang-nga, Hat Yai, Ko Chang and Ko Phangan (including Ko Tao).

Tourists and travellers to airport are not affected and can travel at any time. All airports  & airlines continue to operate flights to Thailand as normal.

Thailand is ever ready to welcome tourists to our country with open arms and most things remain the same.

In fact there could be no better time to travel to Thailand than now, with hotels, shopping complexes and spas offering all kinds of promotions and discounts.

The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale will be on from June 15-August 15, whereby participating outlets all over the country are offering up to 80 per cent discounts on selected items.

For measures to follow while in Bangkok, please visit our Newsroom website: www.tatnews.org and our local Facebook page www.facebook.com/tat.kualalumpur for daily updates.

We thank you for your continuous support and looking forward in welcoming you and your guests soon.
