WITH A CHINKY NAME LIKE CHIEN LEE, I ASSUMED THE PHOTOGRAPHER IS A CHINAMAN SO WAS SURPRISED TO SEE A MAT SALLEH.

Chien Lee is half American and half Chinese as his mother is from San Francisco. His photos are so brilliant and impressive I had to ask him if they were real or photoshopped! Lucky he did not slap me for such impertinence though he admitted a handful were taken in his studio but the vast majority were photographed on site.

"I never know what I would be photographing. I might venture into the jungle to take photos of birds and ended up taking photos of frogs or amphibians and animals without an avian in sight! The sense of unexpectedness makes my sojourns more interesting."
