SHANGRI-LA KUALA LUMPUR DOES ITS BIT TO RAISE AWARENESS OF BREAST CANCER IN THE SPECIAL MONTH OF OCTOBER DEDICATED TO ERADICATING THIS SCOURGE

IN CONJUNCTION WITH BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH






Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur held its “Family & Friends Charity Walk 2017” in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month on 15 October 2017. The event was graced by guest of honour, Yang Berbahagia Puan Sri Datin Seri Dato’ Akmal Abdul Salam, Patron of the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA), together with Mr. Manfred Weber, Area General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Over 100 participants, including hotel guests, associates and members of the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia, joined in the 5 km city walk starting from the hotel to raise funds and awareness on the disease. Prior to the event, all the participants were guided with a proper warm-up session conducted by the hotel’s Fitness Centre manager and also treated to a hearty breakfast after the event.

Together with the hotel’s “Pink Pals of Shangri-La” campaign from 1 till 31 October 2017, which donates RM 5 from every item purchased from the Pink Specials promotion, proceeds from this charity walk will be channelled towards the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia.

“In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur is taking this opportunity to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Welfare Association to show our support as the need for awareness on breast cancer increases,” said Mr Manfred Weber, Area General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
